Sat.

After yesterdays tours of churches and plazas today was very different. Today we took what they call the reality tour. We were picked up and taken to the local market. Very large and there are things there that we have never seen at home. Rows of fish and chickens with the heads and feet still on them. Many different aniamls testicales, frogs that have been dried and then you make a drink from them or soup. Whole bulls heads. Everything a family woud need to get for cooking or selling you could find here. Then we went to the place where they cut by hand the rocks that they make some of the poor peoples houses with. The rock is soft but they do it by hand with picks and wedges. It was very interesting and at the same time sad. They work and get 1 sols and 20 cents for each stone. Very hard work. Then we went to a day care in the poorest part of town and also a lunch room for the people of this community. It can not be described. We went to a cemetary and for these poor people they have to pay 2000 sols and the may work all day and make 20 or less. It was good to see but not again. Dinner last night was good we had trout and alpaca. The alpaca was good. Now we are packing to go to Colca Canyon tomorrow for one night. More in a few days. P.S. No spell check.
Miss you all!
